Fernandez’s ‘Day in the Life’ Vlog Sparks Backlash: ‘Is She a Tennis Pro or an Influencer?’ Fans Demand Focus.

As the off season continue, it is time for another Daily Dose of Social Media with Mirra Andreeva finally getting her dog while Leylah Fernandez shares her Day of the Life.

Katie Boulter also shares the end of Autumn while Karolina Pliskova and Maria Sharapova are back in two different types of training. As ever we continue our Daily Dose of entertainment and social media content from on and off the court over the past 24 hours.

Mirra Andreeva finally gets her dog

Mirra Andreeva finally has her pet dog, a narrative that nominated her season as she went up the rankings albeit she has taken time in order to get her dog.
Andreeva has finally revealed what appears to be a Bernedoodle which is a Bernese Mountain Dog × Poodle mix. The Russian finished the season albeit without making it to the WTA Finals with one of the best years out of any of the top 10 and she is taking some rest now albeit unlike most she is not in the Maldives.
“I think I will not buy a dog right away,” she said previously. “I want to buy a dog when I am super confident that I will be able to give everything I can to the dog, because it’s like a little child. Now, it’s a bit complicated. I need to get more mature so I can take care of my dog.”
As of a few months ago, she still hadn’t got a dog. But she had some ideas. “I’m thinking to get an ultra mini labradoodle,” she said. “It’s going to be a Labrador mixed with poodle, and it’s ultra mini, so going to be even smaller than a mini version.

“It’s going to take time until the dog that I want will be born. We wait for now.”
It was a narrative that took up most of her season as she rose up the rankings. “I was always checking live rankings, because before, I was playing for a dog,” she said, “so after every match I play, I would check the live rankings to see if I did it.”
“I’m thinking to get a girl, because the girls are basically they’re a bit smaller in the size, so it’s gonna be easier to travel with a girl,” she said.
“At first I wanted to get a boy, so I came up with a couple of names for a boy, but then we decided to get a girl,” she added. “There are not many options, and I’m not even sure that the options I have are going to be the actual name. So I cannot really name any. I will have to think about it!”
The name she decided on was Rassy. Superb from the Russian ace.

Katie Boulter brings in last of the Autumn

Katie Boulter shared the last of the autumn as she basks in the chilly British weather ahead of a make or break couple of months.
Albeit it also produced some exceptional comments from fellow tennis stars. Marta Kostyuk merely put heart eyes while Laura Robson put: “Nothing autumnal about this weather mate” with a chilly emoji.
Olivia Nicholls, fellow British tennis player also wrote: “Didn’t look this happy after 8am versa,” with a winking emoji in tow. While Freya Christie wrote: “I recognise those tights”.
Boulter may play very soon so likely taking very little time off, there is the small matter of Angers in the first week of December as she aims to boost her ranking sufficiently to not need to play Australian Open qualifying.
But she tore her abductor in recent months and slid down the rankings after spending most of the year as British No.1 until a revived Emma Raducanu took that spot off her and now she is British No.3 behind Sonay Kartal even and has gone from top 25 to sliding out of the top 100 within months.

Karolina Pliskova begins pre-season as Maria Sharapova shares training video

Karolina Pliskova has spent most of the last 18 months out injured but she shared that she was making strides after appearing in multiple challengers towards the end of the year.
Pliskova spoke to Flashscore earlier this year about breaking her ankle and having surgery and now she approaches the road back. She ended her season after only a few tournaments as she wasn’t fully ready yet.
“My ankle broke and they took me away in a wheelchair. The biggest embarrassment… I went straight to the hospital. They found out that it was just cracked all over. Ligaments, tendons… Only the bones were holding it together. So basically, the surgery was a no-brainer.”
“I’m young, sometimes things hurt, but we just play! I’ve never been health-conscious, but sometimes I’ve had a problem like my wrist, sometimes something stuck somewhere, but otherwise I’ve never missed a tournament. I never crossed. My body’s always been good. So I figured I’d be fine, I’d be back in three months. But then it started… I was already planning on playing Australia. And if I didn’t, I was gonna do Miami and Indian Wells in March. And now I’m actually just catching the end of the season…”
“There were complications with the healing. And in the end I had to have one more surgery because it wasn’t getting any better and my leg was still extremely swollen. It couldn’t take any strain, nothing. Well… and it’s been over a year, although I wouldn’t say that. It went pretty fast.”
While Maria Sharapova shared a training video and joked that it wasn’t like riding a bike saying she had missed out on multiple weeks of strength training so now has just come back. “After missing couple of weeks of strength training, I can confirm, it’s not like riding a bicycle.”

Leylah Fernandez shares lazy day in the life

Leylah Fernandez shared a lazy day in the life albeit with a twist as it also unveiled a brand partnership.
The former US Open finalist was using Amazon products to go about her day as they begin the Black Friday/Cyber week festivities. While she is not in the Maldives, she’s having rest and relaxation anyhow it seems.
