BREAKING NEWS: Simona Halep gives a Five-word answer based on pressure towards coaching on WTA Tour as she says…

Simona Halep reveals she has no intention of getting into tennis coaching at the moment but has left the doors open for that to happen sometime in the future.

Halep, who walked away from pro tennis in February by appearing in her home tournament in Cluj-Napoca, celebrated her 34th birthday in September. And nine months after her retirement, the Romanian tennis legend got her first tennis gig after being appointed as a WTA Finals ambassador in Riyadh.

Tennis Channel caught up with the former world No. 1 in the Saudi capital and asked her if she was looking to become a coach on the WTA Tour.

“Right now, no, I’m not thinking about it. Probably in the next years. I don’t have energy to do this. This means to travel again, I just like to feel at home more time now,” the 2019 Wimbledon champion shared on Tennis Channel.

Halep shares how her daily life looks like in retirement

After competing at the highest level for a decade and a half, Halep enjoys simply waking up in the morning and not having many responsibilities. However, the former two-time Grand Slam champion admits she misses the adrenaline of competing and winning at the biggest stage.

“I don’t have a schedule anymore. I can just wake up in the morning and not have anything to do. But of course I need this rest. I had so many years working every day. Pressure, the tension, everything, made me a little bit to be burned out. Now I enjoy life and I enjoy the free time. The adrenaline I miss, winning matches, playing matches, the pressure that I had during the matches, all the work for the team, the people around,” the 34-year-old explained.

After returning to tennis in March 2024, Halep picked up a knee injury. The former world No. 1 never recovered from the injury and decided to retire after the doctors told her she would need surgery to keep competing.

Nadal words serve as a tribute and a reminder. Federer’s artistry, Djokovic’s endurance and his die-hard warrior spirit have built an era that may never be repeated, not even by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
