The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has confirmed that no action will be taken against Fallon Sherrock for her playful antics during her World Championship defeat to Dave Chisnall. Sherrock humorously shook the same drinks table that her ex-partner Cameron Menzies had previously punched in frustration, an act which left him injured.
Menzies was seen bleeding after lashing out at the table following his first-round loss to Charlie Manby. The 36-year-old Scot and Sherrock, 31, were in a relationship for four years before parting ways amicably earlier this year, with her recent actions being viewed as light-hearted.
PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter emphasised the support available for Menzies in the wake of his reaction to his defeat. He stated: “Cameron knows there is support available from the PDC and the PDPA (players union). Our main priority is the player’s health and wellbeing,”.
Like Menzies, Sherrock also failed to advance beyond the first round. She missed significant opportunities against Chisnall, failing 20 of her 23 double attempts, leading to a 3-0 defeat.
Menzies, seeded 26th, initially led 1-0 and 2-1 against Manby but ultimately succumbed to a 3-2 defeat. In a statement following his loss, he revealed he had been struggling recently due to the passing of his uncle Gary.
“I saw him four days before he died, and he gave a look which told me how much he thought of me. He treated me like a son,” Menzies explained. “Had I won the game against Charlie, my second match would have been on the day of Gary’s funeral, and that has not been lost on me in recent days.
“Let me say again, that’s no excuse for what I did on the stage. It was the wrong thing to do, and I don’t want it to take anything away from Charlie. He played well and deserved his win. This is not how I would like people to view me. Yes, I can get emotional at times, but not like that, and that wasn’t right.”

Following his victory over Sherrock, Chisnall told Sky Sports the contest was tighter than the final score indicated. “That was massive. If she hit her doubles, that would have been very different,” he admitted.

“She scored well. I didn’t score well at all. My doubles were quite good. Fair play to the crowd.”
Chisnall’s next opponent in the second round will be Ricardo Pietreczko, after the German defeated Portugal’s Jose da Sousa. The final first-round fixtures are scheduled for Friday, featuring seeded competitors including Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall.
Emerging talent Beau Greaves will also kick off her World Championship journey on Friday. The 21-year-old faces 22nd seed Daryl Gurney, with the victor set to meet Callan Rydz in the second round.
