Is Wedding Next?” Coco Gauff’s Intimate Family Christmas with Jalen Sera Ignites Major Speculation

Coco Gauff was feeling the holiday cheer!

The Grand Slam champion, 21, was all smiles on Christmas Day, alongside her boyfriend Jalen Sera, 23, whom she’s been quietly dating for over two years. Gauff included a wholesome roundup of Instagram photos alongside family on Thursday, Dec. 25.

Gauff tagged Sera in the third picture of her holiday roundup, where the two were cozied up while wearing matching reindeer antlers.

He smiled and gently wrapped his arms around her, as she cheesed for the camera while stylishly flaunting a festive headband that complemented her one-sleeve white top.

“christmas 🫶🏾🎄,” she simply captioned the Instagram carousel.

Sera reposted Gauff’s post on his own Instagram, and shared the close-up photo of them posing together wearing the antlers, and added a brown heart emoji over the picture.

Gauff has opened up to PEOPLE exclusively about Sera over the years.

In August, Gauff shared with PEOPLE exclusively the one unexpected thing she did with her boyfriend while watching Venus Williams’ historic DC Open win.

“I never cook, but I made dinner that night… Dinner and everything because I was so excited to watch her play,” she told PEOPLE exclusively of the seven-time Grand Slam champion.

“That was the first match I’ve been excited to watch in a while. My boyfriend was with me and I was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t wait,’ ” she shared at the time.

Gauff confirmed she was in a relationship in November 2023 during a chat with the Tennis Channel, where she cited a special someone who gave her the infinity necklace she was wearing at the time.

“My boyfriend gave this to me… I’m sure a lot of relationships look up to that symbol [of infinity], so I’m not going to explain that,” she said, though didn’t reveal his identity.

Gauff also made mention of her boyfriend during a 2024 cover story interview with Vogue when she made clear that she wasn’t dating a fellow athlete, but rather a musician.

“Some people thought it was someone in tennis and that couldn’t be further from the truth,” she shared. “He’s a very nice guy. He’s in school now…He’s about to apply for music school. He wants to be an actor, and he plays the guitar.”

Gauff has sprinkled little details about her boyfriend in interviews that’ve followed, like noting that he’s from Atlanta, and that her mom previously taught him in the fourth grade. “He’s always been a smart, nice kid,” the tennis player’s mom, Candi, said of her boyfriend.

While the athlete has played coy about Sera’s identity over the years, the pair haven’t shied away from posting flirty comments on each other’s Instagram pages. She’s also tagged him a few times on her Instagram, too.

It appears Gauff shared a photo with Sera on Instagram for the first time in September 2025. They were in New York City together around the time the tennis star played in the US Open.

“This is my first real relationship,” she told the outlet, adding, “To just have someone to talk to who is not involved in tennis at all gives me a fresh perspective.”
