It’s A Demand, Not A Dream”: Serena’s Shocking Ultimatum To Retire ONLY If She Can Defeat Venus Fans Find this interesting.

Greg Rusedski launched a new tennis podcast and instantly addressed the rumors surrounding Serena Williams as the 1997 US Open runner-up thinks the American tennis icon may be interested in returning to tennis so she can play some doubles and “sign off with Venus.”

One of the main stories of this offseason has been Williams re-entering the ITIA’s testing pool and making herself available to doping testers. After the news was first reported, the former 23-time Grand Slam champion denied that she was coming back through a social media post. However, that didn’t convince the tennis community as many posed the same question – why would she willingly make herself available for doping controls if she didn’t want to return?

One of the most popular theories is that Williams is looking to return and team up with Venus, who reached the US Open quarterfinal with Leylah Fernandez in September. Rusedski also thinks it makes total sense and says he would be the first to buy a ticket if the iconic American duo entered next year’s Wimbledon and US Open doubles events.

Rusedski: I think Serena Williams has gone on the testing list to sign off with Venus

“For me, I think she might play some doubles with Venus. If Venus is hanging up the rackets, I think she has gone on the (doping) list to sign off with Venus, which started the Williams sisters story,” the 1997 US Open finalist said on the Off Court with Greg podcast.

“What an amazing story. I think it’s the greatest story ever. You look at the Dad and they have made a movie out of this, King Richard. He said I don’t have one Michael Jordan, I have two Michael Jordans. What Serena and Venus did coming from Compton is incredible, so I think she has put herself on the and will play doubles with Venus. It could be Wimbledon, it could be the US Open and boy, would I love to see that. I hope I’m there to see that in person if it happens.”

The Williams sisters have won 22 doubles titles together. 14 of those 22 have come at the Grand Slam level and they are also three-time Olympic gold medalists.

Aryna Sabalenka’s coach gets real on Belarusian’s nerves, references Roger Federer

Coach Anton Dubrov acknowledges Aryna Sabalenka sometimes may not be the calmest player on the Tour, but adds that fine because “not everybody is always perfect like Roger Federer.”

It is not a secret that Sabalenka lost some big matches early in her career because she struggled to control her emotions. In one of her past interviews, the Belarusian herself admitted that the nerves were the reason behind losing her first three Grand Slam semifinals.

After making a breakthrough at the 2023 Australian Open and becoming a Grand Slam champion, Sabalenka credited her work in the mental department and learning to stay calmer for her triumph. Since then, the 27-year-old has won three more Grand Slam titles and spent over 60 weeks at the world No. 1 spot.

While Sabalenka is now much calmer compared to her younger days, she is still no stranger to losing her emotions. If you can recall, she started panicking during this year’s French Open final against Coco Gauff before she lost in three sets.

Now, coach Dubrov reveals that the Belarusian tennis star approached the team after the French Open final and admitted that she made “a mistake.”

Dubrov: She’s working on controlling her emotions, and speaks honestly when she makes a mistake“Just honest discussions. What you want is here [holding out his right hand]; what you experienced right now is here [left hand]. There’s this gap between the two and trying to work on it. She’s trying to work on it. She’s more honest about it. I like this. Even after Paris, she was open to talk about it, like `Yeah, I was wrong, this is my mistake. We are all humans. What’s next?’ Not everybody is like Roger Federer, always perfect all the time,” Dubrov told the WTA website.

Sabalenka won her fourth Grand Slam title at this year’s US Open, but also had a couple of heartbreaking losses in 2025 after losing back-to-back Major finals at the Australian Open and the French Open, as well as falling short to Elena Rybakina in the WTA Finals final.
