Emma Raducanu shocked the world at the US Open four years ago…
When British teenager Raducanu entered the US Open qualifying draw in 2021, nobody predicted what would happen a few weeks later.
Winning 10 matches (qualifying and main draw) without dropping a set, Raducanu became the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam.
Raducanu received praise from fellow players and celebrities after her historic win.
She was even congratulated by Queen Elizabeth II…

“It is a remarkable achievement at such a young age, and is testament to your hard work and dedication.
“I have no doubt your outstanding performance, and that of your opponent Leylah Fernandez, will inspire the next generation of tennis players.

“I send my warmest good wishes to you and your many supporters.”

Appearing as a guest on the ‘Today Show‘, Raducanu reacted to The Queen’s message.
“I was very, very honored to have received a note from her majesty,” she said.
“I’m very grateful. I have got some congratulations, but I haven’t really checked my phone yet still.
“I’m still just trying to really let this moment sink in, and I had a really nice night with my team the night of the final. We just discussed and reflected.”
Raducanu’s win in New York will be remembered forever, but how has she performed since winning the US Open four years ago?
Emma Raducanu hasn’t won another title since the US Open
Unfortunately for Raducanu, injuries have prevented her from finding any consistent form on the WTA Tour since winning the US Open.
Adding to that a long list of coaching changes, Raducanu struggled to rediscover the level she showed at Flushing Meadows in 2021.
However, things started to look up for her in 2025, as she took a significant step forward.
Raducanu reached the quarterfinals of the Miami Open earlier this year, defeating American stars Emma Navarro and Amanda Anisimova along the way.
Eventually, her run came to an end at the hands of Jessica Pegula, but she’d proven herself on the big stage once more.
After a poor clay-court season, Raducanu bounced back on the grass and very nearly pulled off the upset of the year at Wimbledon.

Taking on the world number one, Aryna Sabalenka, Raducanu pushed her close, but lost in two tight sets, 6-7, 4-6.
The Brit impressed again upon her return to the tour in Washington, DC, where she qualified for the semifinals.
Raducanu was unable to carry that form through with her for the remainder of the season, but still finished with her highest year-end ranking since 2021 (29).
Only time will tell what she can achieve in 2026, but you certainly won’t want to miss any of the action.
Raducanu is scheduled to return to tennis at the 2026 United Cup, which begins on Friday, January 2.
