Exclusive: Taylor Fritz’s Secret Getaway During Davis Cup Week Causes Backlash as Teammates Feel Betrayed Why Because…
Taylor Fritz, an American tennis player, was not particularly pleased about the reactions of former tennis players, who were surprised why the 28-year-old chose Japan as a vacation destination. Taylor Fritz decided to go to Tokyo for 7 days together with his girlfriend, obviously interested in both this country and this city.
During one of the podcasts, former American tennis players Sam Querrey, John Isner and Steve Johnson also commented on Taylor Fritz’s decision, somewhat surprised by his decision.
Sam Querrey isn’t sure why Fritz chose Tokyo as his destination, as is John Isner, who joked that it wasn’t actually an exhibition there.
“Taylor Fritz is in Tokyo, no one knows why. I’d love to know that. What is he doing?” Querrey asked.
“Not an exhibition right? He’s not getting paid,” Isner said.
“You don’t know. He’s tagging the Four Seasons,” Querrey said.
“Maybe he had to go there and do something,” Johnson stated.
Not long after, Taylor Fritz reacted a bit confused as to why there was so much fuss, sending a clear message via social media.
“I can’t go on vacation for a week?” Fritz replied.
Reactions
In addition to tennis experts, analysts, and legends of this sport, there are many fans who reacted via social media, believing that there is no nothing strange in his decision and that Japan and Tokyo are really a great place for a vacation.
Of course, there are also those who are surprised by his decision, considering that many tennis players have opted for the Maldives and some other exotic places. Taylor, however, is a tennis player who has other ideas and seems to be currently enjoying his vacation with his girlfriend.
The busy season has taken a toll on the body of many tennis players who want to make the most of their vacation and adequately prepare for the challenges that follow in the coming year.

Tennis stars discuss growing problem of autograph reselling

The life of an athlete is sometimes filled with both exciting moments and unpleasant situations. When you’re a celebrity, it’s natural to have a lot of people around you and sometimes your private space can be violated. Many tennis players have spoken openly about it, and the last episode of The Players Box was a chance for Madison Keys to speak openly about cases where individuals follow famous athletes, such as the latest example of NHL star Conor Bedard.
He refused to give an autograph to a man who wanted to resell the signed item, and Keys empathized with his situation, saying she had similar moments.
“He was like walking back from dinner, just with like a couple people or something like that, like casually walking, and the guy was like really bugging him.”- Keys said.
Jessica Pegula revealed that there are always individuals who track you and attend tournaments, wanting to get your signature and sell that very signature for profit.
“I usually ask, because it’s like, it’s obviously at that point, it’s usually especially at like specific tournaments. It’s the same three people over and over and over again, and they’ll literally whip out a whole book… and I was like, well, if you do sell them, I feel like since it’s my face, like, I kind of want to get paid for it. Commission.”- she said.
Privacy concerns
Desirae Krawczyk also shared her experience, saying that such situations can be bizarre and often cause frustration not only for her, but also for her colleagues.
This kind of problem has obviously become common in the world of tennis, but it is really difficult to find a solution for such situations.
The trend of fans trying to take advantage of signed items and sell them is becoming increasingly common, and this problem has become common not only in the world of tennis, but also in many other sports such as the NBA, NFL, soccer and others. The thing is, it’s hard to be a nice athlete, because everyone’s biggest problem is privacy. And that’s certainly a source of frustration for everyone.
It seems that more and more athletes are speaking out about privacy violations, which are a source of frustration for them.
